Released on this day – 18th April – 1989, the second studio album from the Boston act Pixies was entitled Doolittle.
Shaping an already established 4AD record label into one of the shining lights in alternative music, Black Francis, Kim Deal, David Lovering and Joey Santiago helped make this one of the most influential rock albums of the 80’s.
The usual top notch visual imagery was provided by Vaughan Oliver with photography by Simon Larbalestier, here depicted in felt pen.
Hits? Plenty of ’em – ‘Tame‘ , ‘Debaser‘, ‘Here Comes Your Man‘ , ‘Wave of Mutilation‘ and ‘Monkey Gone To Heaven‘.
