PJ Harvey here with The Community of Hope a single release from the album The Hope Six Demolition Project.
In part recorded during Polly Jean Harvey’s curious project which saw her, producers and band mates in a glass walled studio in the depths of Somerset House, where visitors coud come and view the proceedings for an hour at a time. On my own visit I saw producer Flood take a long time to eat a bacon sandwich as the band worked out one of the albums songs. The resulting album saw a highky politicised PJ Harvey rallying against a broken system of injustice, and The Community of Hope is no exception.
Here’s a version in felt pen, again taken from the list of favourites for the wedding decorations commission.
