Simon and Garfunkel – Bookends

Released in 1968 Simon and Garfunkels album ‘Bookends’ has one of the most recognised pieces of cover art, featuring the duo bedecked in black sweaters, evoking that Greenwich Village folk scene style.

Featuring the hit track Mrs Robinson (from The Graduate) the album holds some of their finest songs, blending rootsy folk with the psychedelic sounds of the era, Save The Life of My Child, America, Hazy Shade of Winter, Fakin’ It and Punky’s Dilemma.

This was the first one in the sketchbook, so by default becomes the first one on the site.

This image was also homaged by Austrian down tempo dance duo Kruder and Dorfemeister on their G-Stoned LP in the late 1990s.
