Sonic Youth – Goo

Goo from Sonic Youth arrived fully formed in June 1990 and was wrapped in a brilliant slice of pulp, pop, comic art.  Artist Raymond Pettibon‘s illustration is reportedly based on a paparazzi snap of witnesses Maureen Hindley and her first husband on their way to the Moors Murders trial in 1966.

This was the bands first major label release, but the sixth of their career and featured Kool Thing, Titanium Expose and Dirty BootsKim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley have now racked up 16 albums so far and are currently ‘having a break’.

This version, as ever, is rendered in felt pen.
